What is this functional feature that has leaped into leaps and bounds in a short historical period? This “wireless accuracy” (as literally translated from the English language abbreviation sounds) is the transfer of various information from one device to another without the use of wired Internet.

In order to transmit information, it is necessary to observe only three mandatory conditions: the presence of the Internet, an access point, the role of which is played by a Wi-Fi router, and also a device that has access to the router via a Wi-Fi module (this device can be a laptop, tablet, smartphone and etc.).

The principle of Wi-Fi is as follows: a router is a kind of transceiver that receives an Internet signal, then relays it to a certain distance with a data transfer rate of 0, 1 Mb / second. Thanks to the network adapter built into the device (there is also an external network adapter, the most common is the USB adapter), the user receives a signal. The distance of information transmission via a Wi-Fi router varies and depends on the power of the transmitter. On average, this figure is two hundred meters, but there are very powerful routers that allow you to transmit a signal up to one kilometer away. Basically, such Wi-Fi routers are used in office buildings, in public places and other similar spaces.

The speed of information transfer is significantly affected by the number of subscribers working in a particular network. The higher the number of devices that use the services of a specific WiFi access point, the higher the likelihood of a drop in the speed of Internet flow. Therefore, there are two ways to solve this problem: protecting the network with an individual password or prioritizing. The second method is very often used in large companies.

A modern Wi-Fi network has three standards:

the oldest 802.11b, which allows you to transfer information at a speed not exceeding 11 Mbps – the most popular and widely used standard to date is 802.11g – the data transfer rate is on average 54 Mbps – the most modern and still rarely used for For various reasons, the 802.11n standard, in which the data transfer rate can reach space 1300 Mb / s.
