D-Link company announced in Russia a new managed gigabit stackable switch DGS-3000-28SC. The device is intended for use in companies as well as in Metro Ethernet operator networks.
The novelty is equipped with 20 100 / 1000Base-X SFP ports, four 10/100 / 1000Base-T / SFP combo ports, an RJ-45 console port and four 10GBase-X SFP + ports. The latter can be used to combine switches into a physical stack with a bandwidth of up to 40 Gb / s and connect to servers with 10G-gigabit network adapters.
D-Link DGS-3000-28SC uses such solutions as Single IP Management (control via one IP address for up to 32 switches integrated into a virtual stack) and Smart Fan (intelligent control of fans). To provide IPTV services, the DGS-3000-28SC features IGMP / MLD Snooping, IGMP / MLD Snooping Fast Leave, IGMP Authentication, and Limited IP Multicast.
The announced switch has enhanced protection, which is expressed in the presence of the functions IP-MAC-Port Binding, Port Security, DHCP / DHCPv6 Snooping, DHCP Server Screening, IPv6 ND Inspection, etc. In addition, the new model received a number of technologies that provide fail-safe operation of the equipment, and enhanced user / device authentication functionality.
